Step-by-Step Guide

1 Enter Your WiFi Network Details

Network Name (SSID): Enter the exact name of your WiFi network as it appears on devices.

Security Type: Choose your network's security type (usually WPA/WPA2 for home networks).

Password: Enter your WiFi password. You can click the eye icon to show/hide it.

Hidden Network: Check this box if your network doesn't broadcast its SSID.

Tip: Use the "Generate Strong Password" button to create a secure password for a new network.

2 Customize Your QR Code (Optional)

QR Code Size: Choose from 256px (small) to 2048px (extra large) based on your use case.

Error Correction: Higher levels allow the QR code to work even if partially damaged.

Advanced Options: Click to customize QR code colors (foreground and background).

Recommendation: Use larger sizes (1024px+) for printing. Use Medium error correction for most cases.

3 Export Your QR Code

Download as PNG: Raster image format, perfect for sharing digitally or printing.

Download as SVG: Vector format that scales perfectly at any size without quality loss.

Copy QR Code: Copies the QR code image directly to your clipboard for pasting into documents.

Print: Opens a print-optimized view with the QR code and network name.

Share Settings Link: Creates a URL with your WiFi settings that auto-fills the form for others.

4 Using the QR Code

On iPhone (iOS 11+): Open the Camera app and point it at the QR code. A notification will appear at the top - tap it to connect.

On Android (10+): Open the Camera app or use Quick Settings QR scanner. Point at the code and tap the WiFi notification.

Print and Display: Print the QR code on paper, frame it, or add it to a welcome card for guests.

Pro Tip: Save frequently used networks to history for quick regeneration. All history is stored locally in your browser.

WiFi QR Code Format

WiFi QR codes use a standardized format that is recognized by all modern smartphones:

WIFI:T:[security];S:[SSID];P:[password];H:[hidden];;

T: Security type (WPA, WPA2, WPA3, WEP, or nopass)

S: Network name (SSID)

P: Password

H: Hidden network (true or false)

Example: WIFI:T:WPA;S:MyHomeNetwork;P:SecurePass123;H:false;;

Security Best Practices

  • QR codes contain plaintext credentials - Anyone who scans the code can see your password.
  • Display carefully - Don't post WiFi QR codes in public photos or social media.
  • Use strong passwords - Generate complex passwords using our built-in generator.
  • Separate guest network - Consider creating a separate guest network for visitors.
  • Update regularly - Change passwords periodically and regenerate QR codes.
  • Physical security - If printing, place QR codes where only intended users can access them.
  • Privacy first - All QR generation happens in your browser. Your credentials never touch our servers.
