Wi-Fi QR code for your home

No more reading a 20-character password off the bottom of the router. Stick a small card inside a cupboard door and point visitors to it.

Exactly as it shows in your phone's Wi-Fi list. Capitals and spaces matter.

Security

Made in your browser. Your password is never uploaded, logged or sent to AI.

Want a folded table tent, a door sign or 6 cards per page? Open the printable sign maker.

Set it up in four steps

  1. Find the network name and password: on the router sticker, in your router app, or on a phone already connected (Android: Share; iPhone: Passwords app).
  2. Enter them below and check the preview card.
  3. Print a card, or save the PNG to your phone's photos to show visitors.
  4. Better still, turn on your router's guest network and make the code for that.

Tips

Out of sight. Inside a kitchen cupboard or on the fridge, not in a window facing the street.
Guest network. Keeps visitors' devices away from your computers, printers and cameras.
Smart home setup. Some devices can't scan; the printed password on the card covers those.
Changed the password?. Print a fresh card; old cards stop working straight away.

Guests on iPhone or Android? Point them to the iPhone or Android guide if their camera doesn't react.

Questions

Where do I find my home Wi-Fi password?

On the sticker on your router, in your internet provider's app, or on a phone that is already connected: Android shows it under Wi-Fi → Share, and iPhone in the Passwords app (iOS 18 and later) or Settings → Wi-Fi (iOS 16 and later).

Can someone outside use the QR code?

Only if they can see it. Keep the card indoors and away from windows, and don't post photos of it.

Will kids' tablets scan it?

iPads use the same Camera app scanning as iPhones; Android tablets work like Android phones. Older or budget tablets may need the password typed in.
